The ISA junior series brings together the top under 18 surfers from all the Irish counties to compete against one another to earn the opportunity to compete for team Ireland at an international level at the 2024 European junior surf championships in Portugal in October.

Providing prizes for all the podium positions across all ages and disciplines created such a positive buzz and engagement with the spectators and riders, multiple comments were made as to how we were the best brand to ever provide prizes and the ONY brand to ever come and show support on site at the event, the sheer amount of positive feedback received about the brand was unbelievable from the ISA team, spectators and riders themselves.

A great deal of success of the event can be accredited to the support and cooperation from the chair and events co-Ordinator for the ISA which allowed us access to set up on the cliff tops above the strand, right next to the judging panel and live scoring set up and where the riders and family members were congregating between each heat with a birds eye view of the surf.

the setup itself consisted of 1x tent with sides, 1x table, 7 flags, 1 box of EW samples and one box of prizes.

A second table for the prizes as well as some beach chairs for spectators to use and keep people in and around the tent set up would be of great use at the next event.

The weather and the water conditions were consistent throughout the day, clear skies and sun with minimal wind and regular big sets moving through allowed for the surfers to showcase their talents in the water as well as allowed for a lot more mingling with the riders and spectators between the heats than would have peen possible if there had been less ideal conditions.

Unbeknown upon arrival, The entire event was being filmed on ROI-TV for a documentary on the ISA junior teams journey to the Euros in Portugal in October, consisting of: Competition footage, interviews and backstories on the riders (including OAKLEY sponsored rider and over all first place under 16 finisher Joshua Karbus) this will also be the case at the next 2 events on the west coast. the brand and the set up is going to feature in the background of a lot of the footage in the documentary as well as the winners of each category being interviewed wearing heavily branded product.

one of the best engagements I’ve had at any event.
